Miyazawa Handcrafted Head joints
Miyazawa head joints are designed two styles with varying amounts of resistance. Please consult with us for more detailed information. The price of each flute includes the head joint style of the player’s choice. The head joint may be exchanged free of charge for up to one year after purchase provided it is in excellent condition. Miyazawa head joints are also available for separate purchase.

Head joint Styles
MX-1: A pure and warm tone with a high concentration of mid-range harmonics. The dense, penetrating sound is consistent throughout all registers. With an ample amount of resistance, this style provides a solid response to articulation.
MX-2: A free and comfortable feeling with a wide range of harmonics. The sound is complex with immense tonal color variety. Articulation is crisp and clean. Able to accommodate a high volume of air, this style provides expansive projection with great pitch control.
